Shocking image of giant whale jumping from the ocean!!

A giant Humpback whale was captured on camera jumping out of the sea and barely missing a fishing boat. The image is shocking and amazing. A once in a lifetime experience is for sure.
In the grand scheme of things, humans are one of the smallest links on this earth. Every so often we are given a great big reminder of how much larger mother nature truly is. Recently, a picture was captured in the Californian waters, Monterey Bay, which left viewers with jaws dropped.

The footage shows a giant humpback whale shooting out of the water to the sky, and the scene is incredibly amazing. So close to a fishing boat so you truly can see the scale of the mammoth creature.

Luckily, someone was close enough to capture the video of this breath-taking moment, which seemed like a scene straight out of a movie!.
Monterey Bay is home to many marine species, and it’s in the migratory path of Humpback and Grey whales, making it a popular whale-watching spot. There are even boat tours offered to see if you can spot them, but it’s safe to say no one expects something like this.
A 60-year-old, Douglas Croft, and fellow whale watcher Kate Cumming were sailing in the Pacific waters, they were fortunate enough to experience this amazing moment in person.

In the image, Croft can be seen standing in his boat, which looks so small next to the gigantic mammal. He stands in shock as he witnesses the rare and awe-inspiring display of this giant whale towering over his suddenly all to the small seeming boat.
In an interview, Croft said the whale had emerged the waters several times before he took his camera out. We are so fortunate that he did so we can now enjoy this sight as well.

Croft explained:
“It was quite exciting! Salmon season coincides with the time when humpbacks are returning to Monterey Bay to feed for the summer, and there were hundreds of boats on the bay fishing.” “This whale had breached a couple of times before this, and many times they’ll just keep doing it. I went below deck to shoot from a porthole close to the waterline. That’s what gives this amazing perspective of looking up at the whale.”

Ms. Cummings, who was also in the spot to witness the incredible sight, had a similar experience. Luckily, the whale jumped out of the water one last time so onlookers could get the shot.

She said:
“It was fun capturing this video. The whale had already breached multiple times much further away from the fisherman. But sometimes when whales breach multiple times, they’re also heading a specific direction when they’re underwater building momentum for the next breach.”
“I figured the next breach would be around the fisherman because the whale was heading that way and sure enough! Though I didn’t expect the whale and the boat to line up so perfectly.”
Fully grown Humpbacks ranges from 12-16 meters in length and are very much popular among whale watchers due to their incredible behaviors. As you can see from these pictures they are truly magnificent creatures and they can put on quite the show.
