Australian Man Has The Inside Of His Ears Removed And Had To Travel To Sweden To Get It Done

Some people love to stand out, for some it is having a very distinctive look whether that be a certain hairstyle, tattoos or clothing. There is no limit to how creative people can be, some people go quite far is their journey to look different from what others perceive as art.

Some trends can be dangerous but that doesn’t stop some people modifying their bodies in their pursuit of being different.

Australian Charles Bentley followed his dream to be different and went further than most which is nothing to be ashamed of, but concern for what he has done is growing and people are asking if the procedure he has had done is even safe.

In 2019 Charles packed his bags and traveled to Sweden to have his ears modified, which has left him with half of his ears gone.

Charles didn’t only have specific piercings done he has the entire conch of his ears removed.

The procedure was carried out by Chai Maibert at CALM Body Modification in Stockholm, Sweden. He helped Charles achieve his desired look and Chai says the procedure does not affect his hearing in any way.

Fresh #conchremoval on @charlesvbentley who traveled around the world from Australia to have this procedure performed by me at @calmbodymodification. Truly humbled! ❤️☀️To get some facts straight note that this procedure doesn’t make you deaf. It might impair your ability to hear the direction of sound for the first week or two until your mind has adjusted to your new ears. Hearing from behind will in fact improve. Our ears doesn’t “catch” sound as it did eons of years ago when our ears were bigger hence why we have to create a bigger “ear” by cupping our hand around our ear to hear better. Remember to #BeCuteOrStayMute when commenting because I will block you if you’re being rude. 🖖🏻 . There have been some strong reactions to the post on Instagram and are skeptical as to whether the statement in regards to hearing is true, as if they play no part in our hearing why are they there in the first place.

After Chai shared the pictures of the operation on social media, some people got quite heated and think it is madness and body modification gone too far.

Whilst others feel it looks okay and he should not be ridiculed for his personal choices.

Whether this choice could catch on as a trend in 2020 has yet to be seen.
