Apple Cider Coffee Cake Donuts

Yes, you read that right, Apple Cider Coffee Cake Donuts! What else says fall besides some warm apple cider? It’s a chilly fall morning so I decided I’d make some apple cider, which got me thinking, “what other apple cider recipes can I make?” I hopped online and started searching and came upon this recipe by The Cupcake Chronicles. Heavenly, right? The best part is that they’re so easy to make!


  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter, unsalted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and spray your donut pan with cooking spray
  1. Mix all crumble ingredients together in a bowl until it is combined and looks like clumpy sand. Set aside
  1. In a large bowl mix together the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients. Fold the wet mixture into the dry mixture until smooth and combined.
  2. Pipe the batter into your donut molds.
  3. Divide the crumble topping among the donuts.
  4. Bake for 10-11 minutes.

For the glaze:

  1. Combine all glaze ingredients together until smooth. For thinner icing add more milk. For thicker, add more sugar.


Once the donuts are cool, drizzle the glaze on top.
