7 ways to pamper your soul!

There is a huge difference between your ego and your soul. Your ego is the image you have of yourself and your carefully crafted social mask. But your soul is who you truly are deep down below all the labels and titles. We mask our soul in so many ways that sometimes we bury pieces of it. But only by truly embracing it will we ever be able to live at peace with ourselves.


When you learn to align more with your soul each day, life seems to flow more naturally, and taking action is less of a struggle. You will find a love for yourself that you didn’t know existed. A true level of comfort and happiness within yourself. You feel a greater sense of freedom, joy, satisfaction, empowerment, and inner peace. You love and accept yourself deeply, even when things aren’t going perfectly to plan.


Unfortunately, we’re not taught how to align with our soul. The world we live in caters far more to the ego than anything else that’s true. We spend so long letting the world and the voice of our ego control us with fears and worry. It can take persistence and patience to find our way to safety and embrace it.


Here are a few ways to get more in touch with your soul. Making sure you find time to do even just a few of them every week will help you reach your true self faster.

1. Spend time in nature.

Nature can have a calming effect and reminds us to slow down, take deep breaths, and soak up the present moment. For me, water is the most calming element. Walking along a babbling river or even just sitting there brings me such clarity. Another favorite is walking or hiking through the forest. Connect with yourself. No phones allowed!!

  1. Write a soul journal.

Much like writing a diary, this is a great way to track your growth. Write out the questions you want to ask yourself. “What is preventing me from achieving my dreams?” Then write down your immediate thoughts and feelings without any self-censoring to see what inner wisdom arises.

3. Schedule solo dates.

We can become so busy ticking off to-do lists and catching up with others that we forget to check in with ourselves. So schedule in a weekly solo expedition to get to know yourself a bit better. Take yourself for a coffee, visit a gallery exhibition, read a book, take a creative class, or visit a new part of town.

5. Exercise 

Taking care of your physical body can replenish your soul as well. Yoga is a beautiful way to align your mind with your body. As you focus your attention on your breathing and positioning, you get a chance to silence your mind and cultivate a lasting sense of inner peace. But any workout is a form of self-love and a reminder to yourself that you are worth it

5. Meditate.

When you tune out from the noise of the world and your internal worries and circling thoughts, your inner guide has a moment to speak to you. Try spending five minutes meditating with a soul-soothing mantra such as “I’ve got nowhere to go, nothing to do. Nowhere to go, nothing to do.” Sit and do nothing for a few moments. Listen to the sounds going on around you, scan your body for sensations, and enjoy a few deep breaths from your diaphragm. As Eckhart Tolle points out, “One conscious breath in and out is a meditation.”

6. Offer to help others.

When you’re giving your time, energy, and love to other people, you momentarily forget all of your ego-based worries and problems and align with your true spirit, which is generous and open-hearted. It helps ground you in the truth of the world and reminds you of what’s truly important.

7. Lose yourself in something you love.

It could be dancing, cooking, writing, running, painting, or any number of things. When you’re caught up in something you love, your mind goes quiet and your soul takes over. It’s beautiful, freeing feeling and something we should all strive to experience more often. It brings forth your authentic self. Through remembering or learning what it is you love in life you will remember how to truly love yourself!!

These are just a few small things you can do to connect with your soul. Staying consistent in your pursuit is key. Carving time out for these acts of kindness to yourself can start you on the path to true contentment and happiness. – Kristina
