Your wedding day is supposed to be the most perfect magical day. It is the beginning of your life with the man you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with.
Months of planning have taken place; you’ve spent what seems like forever finding your perfect wedding dress and you couldn’t be blamed for feeling a little nervous about your big day and the fact you are joining a whole other family too.
There is a well-known etiquette that everyone should respect, those being no one wears white/cream except the bride, and never try to upstage the bride on her special day.
But what happens when your future mother in law turns out to be the most extra AF nightmare on your big day?
For one bride this nightmare became reality.
This mother in law turned up not only in cream, but her dress was, in fact, a bridal gown!
Now this extreme mother in law is trying to sell the dress online and she posted a picture of herself wearing the cream and gold dress on Facebook marketplace, the woman described it as: “Mother of the groom dress and headpiece.
“Cream and gold stunning dress- paid a lot for it. Selling as won’t wear again.”
No surprise that soon after her post was shared on a wedding-shaming Facebook group where users branded her “embarrassing” and “atrocious”.
Inviting other users to criticize the gown, the person posting in the group wrote: “I saw this dress on buy and sell and thought interesting wedding dress.
“Then I saw the description… this was the MOTHER of the groom. Shaming the mother-of-the-groom for the dress.”
One user replied: “Bahahahahhaa! Okay, that’s seriously the most extra f**king mother-of-the-groom dresses I’ve EVER seen. Ever. Period.”
Another raged: “I was thinking how pretty the dress was, but not for a mother-of-the-groom lol. Stop mom!! You’re embarrassing yourself.”
Branding the whole thing “atrocious”, a third replied: “Oh wow. Looks like she is marrying her son.”
Meanwhile, another joked: “‘ Won’t wear again’ is an awfully bold assumption when there’s such a strong possibility of scaring your son’s wife off.”
One can’t help but wonder what the ‘real bride’ thought of her new mother in law.
