How To Make Your Very Own Stunning Lip Stain

I’m not one for wearing much makeup especially lipstick and I often found when I did go to use the lipsticks, I did have they had gone gooey and, in some cases, dry so yuk that went in the trash.

I’m also very conscious that lipsticks contain all kinds of toxins that do your body no good at all so I decided the best route was to make my own lip stain instead, I can make just a little at a time and they make great gifts for my girlfriends.

All the ingredients are natural and have health benefits what more could you ask for!

Benefits Of Each Ingredient:

Beetroot powder and Hibiscus are really great natural colorants, both give a natural red/pinkish color and are rich in antioxidants. They also contain folate which helps stimulate and repair skin cells.

Beeswax is an incredible natural product that conditions the skin which also calms and soothes inflamed skin so if you suffer from chapped lips or dry lips this ingredient will be a great help.

Shea Butter is a natural fatty acid full of vitamins and nourishes the skin.

Coconut oil is a natural edible oil which is the best moisturizer you can have; it literally melts on the skin and leaves no residue behind.

How To Make Your Own Lip Stain

Ingredients/ Materials needed:

Shea butter or Coconut oil

Beeswax

Beetroot powder and/or Hibiscus powder

Small microwave proof glass bowl

Bamboo skewer

Cosmetic containers

Method:

The type of product you want depends on what you use. For a firm lip stain use equal parts beeswax and shea butter, both of these products are firm at room temperature. If you prefer a looser lip stain use coconut oil with less beeswax. For the first few times of making use small amounts until you get used to how much you will be using.

Place the equal parts beeswax and shea butter in a microwaveable dish and heat in 30 seconds intervals, use the bamboo skewer to combine and check it has completely melted.

Combine a good amount of beetroot powder or a combination of beetroot and hibiscus powder and stir until you get the color you want. Add to the dissolved beeswax and shea butter and stir well until completely dissolved.

Pour into your desired container and leave to cool. You can buy cosmetic containers on Amazon for little cost. The stain will last depending on how often you use it, but even a small pot can last a month with heavy daily use.
